#SheLeadsChange: Conversations to celebrate Women’s leadership
A system designed to further control women and convert them to submissive beings at the mercy of men. Women's Month honors not only the thousands of women who marched on that fateful day in 1956, but also the pioneers of the women's movement in this country, dating back to 1913, when women like Charlotte Maxeke led the way in founding the ANC Women's League and encouraging women to participate in the struggle for freedom. In August, we also commemorate International Women's Day, themed– “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.
Soul City Institute organized a series of dialogues with different women executives in various sectors to commemorate Charlotte Maxeke's year and to celebrate Women in Leadership. These discussions functioned as Think Tanks on what women in leadership roles can do to help change, achieve, and question the status quo.
