Project coordinator SIOC | 1X Northern Cape – John Taolo Gaetsewe District (Tsantsabane)

Fixed term contract to end February 2026. Has to be a Kuruman resident. (Reporting to Programmes Implementation Officer) Peromnes Grade 10

Job purpose

The project coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Programmes Implementation Officer to implement the GBVF response in SIOC-CDT beneficiaries' communities in Northern Cape aimed at combating Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).

Key responsibilities

Co-ordination of GBVF projects

  • Support project rollout in partnership with Work Avenue and CBOs
  • Mobilise and recruit Rise Young Women’s Clubs
  • Coordinate training, meetings, stakeholder engagements, and project admin
  • Provide capacity building to CBOs
  • Prepare and monitor project plans
  • Facilitate communication with club members and stakeholders
  • Oversee Social Mobilisers and service providers
  • Conduct community mapping and gather intelligence
  • Facilitate training and dialogues
  • Coordinate logistics and material distribution

Coordination of provincial projects

  • Represent SCI in provincial forums
  • Run community dialogues and trainings
  • Monitor training and fieldwork
  • Collect, collate, and report on provincial data
  • Support M&E activities and tools
  • Capture visual/audio activity records

Relationship building and management

  • Maintain provincial and district stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships
  • Attend and report back from stakeholder meetings

Project cycle management

  • Develop and present programme updates
  • Coordinate workshops and reports
  • Support youth programme development and administration

Financial management

  • Process invoices and coordinate payments
  • Procure and manage service providers
  • Ensure cost-efficiency and policy compliance

Human resources management

  • Support recruitment of fieldworkers
  • Identify personal training needs
  • Comply with HR policies
  • Represent the organisation with professionalism

Qualifications and experience

  • 3-year diploma, degree or equivalent in communication, education, health, public health, social science, or social work
  • At least 3 years’ experience in health/development sector
  • Experience in educational material development and children’s sector is advantageous

Competencies

  • Knowledge of child-related legislation and development standards
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Strong communication skills in English and other SA languages
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and multitasking abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport
